            Abstract : 
It is shown both theoretically and experimentally that the a.m.- and f.m.-noise spectra of transmission- and reaction-cavity-stabilised Gunn oscillators differ considerably for high modulation frequencies, i.e. frequencies exceeding the 3 dB bandwidth of the cavities.
