Abstract :
The power handling capability of coaxial transmission line is intrinsically limited by the onset of the TE 1,1 waveguide mode. An expression is developed for this limitation as a function of operating frequency, and ramifications are examined for UHF-TV operation at the maximum licensure E R P of 5 Megawatts.
