Abstract :
The conventional crosscorrelation function (XCF) used in temporal and spatial displacement measurement is unable to provide satisfactory results when linear distortion is also present in the signals. A ´nested´ correlation function (NCF) is proposed which produces accurate results, when the distortion is dispersive, with negligible computational overhead.
