Abstract :
An interactive HD WDM optical network called M3I NET is reported which uses a two-electrode DFB LD as a multifunction device. This device acts as an FSK transmitter at one end and as an FSK receiver/ASK transmitter at the other end. The selection of one optical signal out of two was demonstrated and remote control of the transmitting information (TV program or CD musical part) was successfully achieved.
