Abstract :
By numerical calculations it is demonstrated that the frequency modulation response of a lambda /4-shifted DFB laser at low modulation frequencies depends strongly on the series resistance between upper contact and active layer. The intensity modulation response is shown to be only weakly dependent on the series resistance.
