Abstract :
The noise performance of a cavity-stabilised Gunn oscillator has been investigated for the case where the resonance frequency of the cavity is not coincident with the free-running oscillator frequency. This detuning has a strong influence on the f.m. noise, while the a.m. noise remains nearly unchanged.
