Abstract :
The main research objectives of the CEGB are support of the Board´s existing plant, development work connected with future plant and the environmental consequences of the activities of the Board. The future possibilities for generation and transmission of electricity are also investigated. In 1979/80 the CEGB spent ¿¿64 million on research and development. The organisation and planning involved are considerable and the structure of the Research Division and the way in which it operates are described in this paper.
