Abstract :
The problem of approximation in the time domain may be solved by using the criterion of maximising the peak envelope of a compressed pulse. The position of allpass poles and zeros can be obtained by varying only three parameters. The new method, compared with the existing ones, gives greater pulse compression with greater range sidelobe reduction, using a simpler procedure.
