Abstract
Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices (SQUIDs) offer, without any doubt, the best performance to read out Transition Edge Sensors (TESs). However, considerations about costs and low temperature power dissipation have pushed our group to investigate alternate schemes that could provide satisfactory, if not comparable, performance. In particular, we are investigating the performance of a low temperature resonant circuit coupled with a room temperature FET voltage amplifier. We report and discuss here our preliminary analysis of the performance and optimization of this scheme and a preliminary experimental proof of concept.
