Abstract :
Abstract: The modal equation of a grid of parallel thin conducting wires over a reactive surface will be derived. The equation is solved numerically, and the existence of leaky-wave modes shown. The attenuation constant and the v/c ratio for the first-leaky-wave modes are obtained. Radiation properties of the structure are briefly mentioned.
