  • Abstract
    The standard Hartley transform is not directly applicable to the representation of signals whose properties change markedly as a function of time. The short-time Hartley transform (STHT), a time-varying Hartley representation of a signal, is therefore introduced. The analysis and synthesis procedures of the STHT system are described in detail. The bulk of the computation in both analysis and synthesis procedures is performed by the FHT (fast Hartley transform), thereby making the system attractive for implementation, especially if a high-speed FHT processor is available
