Abstract :
An overview of planning for the public switched telephone network (PSTN) in China is presented. Telecommunications planning is performed by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT), the government agency responsible for telecommunications research and development, planning, and operation of the overall telecommunications networks in China. The planning process, which produces both fundamental (requirements) and developmental (implementation) plans, is described.<>
