Abstract
The introduction of the microprocessor has started a change in the field of electronics quite unlike that caused by the introduction of any other component. The tremendous control and decision making capabilities of the microprocessor have created applications which would not have been practical using previous technology. The single chip microcomputer has made application of microprocessor technology even more attractive for highly cost sensitive areas requiring a dedicated controller. Television tuning systems are just such an area. This paper describes the implementation of a microprocessor based memory tuning system. Discussed is the design of some of the hardware and software which best demonstrates the utilization of the characteristics of the microprocessor environment to produce a cost effective tuning system.
