  • Abstract
The technology needed to convert the microprocessor\´s information into information that can be displayed on a commercial television set has been known for a long time. The need for the VDG has finally come. The past few years have demonstrated sharp relative declines in the cost of both microprocessors and 17" to 19" color televisions when compared to the general cost of electronic equipment. Color and black and white monitors have remained relatively high in price. Further many engineers (and other professionals) who would like to work on some software development or other computer based functions, find that they can\´t take their company\´s dedicated monitor home with them. The rest of the microcomputer system could easily fit in a briefcase. Television game manufacturers are also finding a need for a Video Display Generator as their games and displays beconie more and more complex.
