Abstract
This paper presents a practical design flow, including a detailed evaluation methodology, for noise reduction algorithm used specifically in video post processing. Based on this design flow, a novel motion adaptive noise reduction algorithm is created. While integrated into an existing video post processing pipeline, this noise reduction algorithm helps the video pipeline to pass the noise reduction test and detail preserving test in the industry widely used video post processing benchmark, HQV (Hollywood quality video processing for high definition).
