Abstract
A novel sacrificial electrode with fractal to protect surface acoustic wave devices from electrostatic discharge (ESD) break is proposed. Finite difference time domain method and source model are carefully developed to simulate the ESD transient response. Compared with a traditional electrode, the simulation results show that fractal can improve the protective efficiency greatly.
