Abstract
A new type of highly frequency-stabilized self-oscillating up-converter using transferred-electron diodes is described. Experiments were made under the following conditions. Self-oscillating frequency (local frequency), signal frequency (IF), and output frequency were 20.1 GHz, 1.5 GHz, and 18.6 GHz, respectively. The best result achieved was a maximum power output of +14 dBm, a 3-dB bandwidth of 1 GHz, and a self-oscillating frequency stability of 1.2 × 10-6/°C.
