Abstract :
Blue¿violet electroluminescence has been observed in forward-biased zinc-oxide diodes of the metal¿insulator¿semiconductor variety. The power efficiency was about 0.005% at 300 K. The emission spectra can be correlated with those obtained from cathodoluminescence measurements.
