Abstract :
A comprehensive review and a comparative evaluation of AC/AC converter topologies are presented. The aim is to provide guidelines for selecting an optimum technology for a given application. The topologies are discussed and evaluated based on the type of link they use. The essential features associated with the links are included. Mixed topologies, which are the focus of significant research activity, are also discussed
