Abstract :
A technique is described that utilises the addition of logarithms in an all n--p--n bipolar configuration, to derive the algebraic product of two variables. The circuit is ideal for integrated-circuit implementation, and uses a simple method of distortion cancellation that is shown to be independent of device current gain ß and base-spreading resistance.
