Abstract
The moisture absorbency of spatially extensive fabrics such as incontinence pads has been measured as a function of microwave frequency using a simple transmission method employing a network analyser. Results show a strong dependency of frequency and indicate that there is an optimum value of around 10 GHz at which to develop low-cost specialist equipment for such measurements.
