Abstract :
A power estimation technique is presented which is suitable for broadband detection of signals reaching a passive array of sensors. It is demonstrated that the technique provides a fixed beam pattern for all steering directions at low frequencies and that this may be used by an operator to aid detection. The effectiveness of the technique is demonstrated by comparison with two alternative approaches.
