            Abstract :
The measured rise and decay times of biphenyl twisted nematic devices fall by factors greater than 10 over the range ¿10°C to +60°C. This is attributed to viscosity changes. The slow response at low temperatures is not improved by using eutectic mixtures with wider nematic ranges.
