Dispersion characteristics of the Gaussian surface-magnetostatic-wave modes in ferrite slabs

Transversely magnetised y.i.g. slabs support surface-wave propagation with an r.f. field distribution which is Gaussian rather than cosine. The experimental dispersion behaviour is reported and discussed in terms of a varying equivalent slab width.
