Abstract :
The low insertion loss characteristic exhibited by ferrite devices at a fixed frequency biased between the direct magnetic fields bounded by the subsidiary and main resonances is well understood. The paper gives some experimental results on the dual problem of the insertion loss versus frequency at a fixed direct magnetic field. The correlation between some experimental work and theory on S-band junction and differential phase shift circulators is more than adequate for engineering purposes.
