Abstract
Novel optical hybrid multicast mode operation has been successfully demonstrated using an active vertical coupler optical crosspoint switch matrix. A fibre delay line has been used to recirculate optical packages, and the OXS matrix provides three parallel output copies in each recirculation or time slot. Nine output copies have been obtained in only three time slots and shorter delay lines, which exceeds the scale of parallel multicast mode operation and has shorter differential delay than serial multicast mode operation.
