Abstract :
Some of the relevant issues in selecting a microprocessor chip and a trainer are examined and a plan of action that will maximize the educational benefit to engineering students without bankrupting the teaching institution is suggested. Topics such as the definition of a microprocessor, microprocessor production, selecting a CPU for the teaching laboratory, and microprocessor development systems are discussed
