Abstract :
A digital correlator is designed and implemented using a special type of instantaneously companded delta-sigma modulation to encode one of the input signals, and a special type of ADC to encode the other. The multiplication process is greatly simplified using this technique, and it is found by computer simulation of the system that the output signal/noise ratio is more than 30 dB over a wide range of input level variation.
