Abstract
The paper summarizes replicable biobehavioral effects including ocular and auditory effects and the low-level efflux of calcium ions from chick and cat cortex tissues exposed to sinusoidally modulated fields. Highlights of studies of long-term and ultra-long-term low-level exposures on rat behavior and blood and urine biochemistry are also given. The new ANSI C95 recommended safety standard and its rationale are presented, as are some of the present and potential medical applications including hyperthermia for cancer therapy. The paper concludes with identified gaps in knowledge where more research is needed.
