Abstract :
The proximity of the solutions of the transcendental equation and tanh z/z=c on the complex plane arising in the determination of the complex dielectric permittivity with the short-circuited-line method is studied. A numerical procedure is described which is capable of obtaining the required number of solutions, even those lying very close to each other, from one single initial point. The method is applied to measurements of various organic liquids
