Abstract :
A class of synchronization errors is defined and sufficient conditions are presented for synchronization error detection with a binary linear coset code. Some cyclic coset codes are proposed and their detecting capabilities are analyzed. Some previous results obtained for different kinds of synchronization errors are presented as particular cases.
