Abstract :
A new detection algorithm, single most likely replacement (SMLR), for detecting randomly located impulsive events which have Gaussian-distributed amplitudes is presented. This detector is designed for the case of severely overlapping wavelets. Estimation of the probability of events also is consider. Experimental results and comparisons with other detectors, using synthetic data, are provided.
