  • Abstract
Anisotropy fields in some randomly oriented uniaxial magnetic recording materials were determined by magnetometry and the Mossbauer effect. The Mossbauer determination used the polarization parameter. Calculated values of polarization were obtained using the Stoner-Wohlfarth theory. Agreement between the two techniques was good for simpler particles. It was found that resolved Mossbauer subspectra can be used for the determination of separate site anisotropy energies if exchange coupling is sufficiently weak
