Abstract :
A comparative analysis is made between two growing public interest wireless systems, namely: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Key system elements are identified and listed to highlight contrasts and convergences and provide guidance in the usage of these systems in several application areas. The analysis covers historical background, targeted usage models, architectural notions, market trends and general considerations for both systems. Concluding remarks indicate that both systems are complementary to each other rather than competitors.
