Abstract :
Few analytical models have been proposed to evaluate the hybrid of the basic and the RTS/CTS access mechanisms up to now. The main reason is that it is very difficult to study a scheme with variable packet length. In this letter, we propose a model to evaluate the saturation throughput performance of the hybrid access mechanism, assuming that the packet lengths are sampled from a general distribution function f(x).
