Abstract :
An analysis of sidelobe-suppressed beam patterns other than the usual shading methods is carried out for uniformly excited elements in a coaxial circular array at different operating wavelengths. Improved beamwidths and suppressed sidelobes are obtained for multiplicative array techniques useful for high-resolution bathymetry; however, in the case of an array with tilted element pattern, the sidelobes are not suppressed up to a satisfactory level
