Abstract :
The performance of digital filters for transmission line distance protection significantly influences the effectiveness of the relaying operation. This paper proposes a wavelet-based algorithm, which can be implemented in microprocessor-based protective relays. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this new algorithm for transmission line distance protection.
