Abstract :
The paper investigates the behaviour of a two-element broadband tapped delay line power inversion array using the LMS algorithm when it is tracking a moving jammer rotating about the array around a certain mean position. From a first-order analysis, approximate expressions for the eigenvalues, eigenvectors and the optimal weight vector are obtained. The tracking behaviour of the array is then analysed and studied, leading to the derivation of the average critical speed of the jammer beyond which array performance deterioration will start to occur. Simulation results are also presented to demonstrate the applicability of the theoretical deviations.
