Abstract :
A dielectric rod enclosed by a short length of cylindrical waveguide has been studied for use as a feed for a reflector antenna. The feed dimensions are optimised experimentally with respect to the E- and H- plane pattern symmetry, low crosspolarisation and input matching. The v.s.w.r. and phase patterns are also described.
