Abstract :
The papers and discussion at the Colloquium are summarised, and include a review of the Government´s policy on the encouragement of innovation, its implementation through the Alvey Directorate and by other means, experiences of design and development programmes in engineering and in textile design, the financing of innovation, third-party contributions by consultants, and innovation through co-operative research and development.
