  • Abstract
    Sharing of communication-satellite capacity among several earth terminals with different traffic requirements is considered, assuming multicarrier f.d.m.a. operation through one nonlinear transponder connected to a multibeam transmit antenna. Analytic results are given for the strategy which maximises spare useful E.I.R.P. and for the resulting upper bound on the capacity when all E.I.R.P. resources have been consumed to overcome system noise.
