  • Abstract
    A theory of fine-particle charging by electrons in electrical precipitators is described. It is shown that electron charging can be very significant under the right conditions; and a novel precipitator is proposed to exploit the process. It is concluded that charge increases of over a factor of 2 may be practical for 0.2¿¿m particles.
