Abstract :
The letter summarises measurements of depolarisation and attenuation at Ottawa using the circularly polarised CTS beacon. A comparison is made between the experimental data and the theoretical curves relating rain depolarisation and attenuation for different drop-size and canting-angle distributions. For a given attenuation, most of the variation in the depolarisation appears to be due to variations in the cantingangle distribution.
