Abstract :
The fields near the tip of a flat metallic sector may become infinite according to a law (1/Rm), where R is the distance to the tip. Data are given on the value of exponent m as a function of the opening angle of the sector. The nature of the singularity is investigated for both the electric and the magnetic fields, and for sharp and re-entrant corners. Data are also given on the component of the electric field in the plane of the sector, the normal component of the magnetic field, and the surface charge and current densities on the metal.
