Abstract :
It has been shown that the present system of metrological assurance of optical pulse oximetry does not provide uniformity and acceptable level of uncertainties in measurements of oxygen saturation in arterial blood. A new method of evaluation of saturation values and uncertainties has been proposed, permitting to reduce measurement uncertainties to the level that meets the up-to-date metrological requirements. Ways of further reduction of saturation measurement uncertainties by a method of optical pulse oximetry have been shown
