Abstract :
The authors report the performance of a YBCO planar thick-film small loop antenna with an integral superconducting matching network. The antenna is shown to outperform a similar silver antenna at a temperature of 77 K. The design of the antenna and matching network is such that they both fit onto a 2" square zirconia substrate, almost 1/20th of a free space wavelength at the operating frequency of 300 MHz.<>
