Abstract :
A general treatment is outlined and equations are developed for the small signal impedance of microwave teach-through BARITT diodes. The results are expressed in terms of "injection phase delay," φiand "drift transit," θdangles. It is shown that substantial improvements in the negative resistance and hence efficiency of such oscillators can be expected as φiis allowed to increase, but not to exceed π/2.
