Abstract :
A novel uniplanar MIC (microwave integrated circuit) and a balanced MIC multiplier are proposed and their characteristics discussed. The circuits use a combination of coplanar waveguides, slotlines, and bonding wires on one side of the substrate. A uniplanar MIC multiplier is designed for use in the 13- and 26-GHz bands and fabricated on an alumina substrate. Good performance with respect to isolation between RF ports is achieved.
