Abstract :
A display station is described that achieves a processing speed approximately five times that of conventional raster-scan devices through several innovations: independently structured channel processor, display processor, I/O device controller, and pipeline coordinate transformation processor, according to function; hierarchically structured display files; local implementation of color-shading and line-smoothing operations; and frame buffer structure designed for ultra-high-speed read/write operations.
