Abstract :
The paper describes the design of a portable thermocouple calibrator and simulator. This microprocessor-based instrument is capable of calibrating and simulating the characteristics of seven commonly used thermocouples namely B, E, J, K, R, S and T types. Particular attention is focused on the design of the cold-junction compensation system, ease of operation through a `soft-key¿¿ driven liquid-crystal display, and self- calibration
